Individual Therapy is for people coming in by themselves to work through personal issues, whether or not those issues are directly related to their relationships.

While Eversfield Counseling & Therapy does have a special interest in relationships, if your reasons for coming to therapy do not expressly relate to your relationship(s) at all, that’s ok, too! We are experienced in treating a myriad of other general mental health conditions and concerns, such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, and career concerns.

What to Expect:

Some clients have very specific, solution-focused goals, and desire only a few sessions of therapy. Other clients seek deeper intra-psychic work, or may wish to establish a longer-term therapeutic relationship with their therapist, giving them the assurance that they always have someone to turn to for support. We find, however, that clients who expect to return for somewhere between 8-12 sessions have the greatest chances of getting to the real heart of their issue(s) and of having longer-lasting therapeutic effects. We will work together to design a treatment plan that works for you and your needs.

Individual sessions range from 45 minutes to two hours in duration. Most clients benefit from coming for weekly therapy visits initially. We often reduce the frequency in the “maintenance” phase of therapy, after significant gains are made. The therapy is discontinued when your goals are met or when the process is no longer helping you.

If, at some point in the process, it is determined that your reasons for seeking therapy are outside of our scope of expertise, or it does not feel like the right therapeutic “fit” for some reason, we will help you connect with someone who can better help you, or, in some cases, will consult with other experts in the field in order to preserve our ability to work with you.
